Chiranjeevee Pokhrel for DCnepal, January 11, 2017 - Prem KC has lost sight of both his eyes and the left ear. It has been 25-years, he is lacking the sight of eyes and the hearing of left ear.
When KC lost his eye-sight and hearing of left ear, society had distinct perspective towards the disable at that time.
Though Prem KC was unable to see the people and the things even in front of himself, he decided to continue his profession.
KC had been to India for employment. Falling down from the chair at his working site, he was injured. Due to the head injury, gradually, his eye-sight was lost. On one hand, he was enduring loss of eye-sight; and on the other hand, mother was paralyzed. KC’s father was also handicapped. In this way, in order to take the responsibility of all four people in the family including himself, KC has been bearing the responsibility on his shoulders. He himself has been the strong support of his family members.
As KC had left his study and had got the experience of working as carpenter for about 14 years, he is doing this business with the same experience, as he said.
“In the beginning, I left my study and worked in furniture. As I got the experience of good works, I worked at Pokhara, Kathmandu. I works in furniture only. I can do work in furniture. Without working also, thinking that I can find the good work by touching the goods, I have started the business.,” says Prem KC, proprietor of furniture. According to KC, the furniture is giving good income.
