Basanti Maharjan, January 12, 2017 (DCnepal) – According to Annapurna Conservation Area, Area Office comparing to 2015 AD the number of national and international tourist visiting Ghorepani Ghandruk have been increased by 31.24 %.
From AD 2016 January to December in Ghorepani, Ghandruk, and base camp of Annapurna area 47 thousand 2 hundred and 47 external tourist have visited said Administrative assistant Ananda Subedi. In AD 2015, 36 thousand and in AD 2014, 42 thousand tourists have come to visit this Ghorepani Ghandruk area.
In Birethanti and Sikh Checkpost they used to keep the record along with the detail information about the tourist that comes and returns from the trekking at Ghorepani, Ghandruk area. Ghorepani, Poon Hill and Ghandruk of Kaski Annapurna rotational trekking route that lies in Myagdi district’s Khar VDC are the major destination of internal and external tourists.
In October, 2016 the highest number of tourists 8,100 and in June, 2016 the lowest number of tourists 1,082 had visited. At the beginning of AD 2016 it was affected by the India’s undeclared blockade though in other times tourist arrivals were enthusiastic said Ghandruk Major Bir Bahadur Quitel.
As the news and information was flowed that this area has not been affected by the devastating earthquake and the area is much secured the number of tourists arrival have increased he stated.
As it is also near to the tourist area Pokhara, Ghorepani Ghandruk trekking area has been the part of attraction for those tourists who prefers for short trip and also for short time periods. Base camp of Annapurna and Ghorepani is the destination that has became the major attraction of many tourists.
